6054 Fairview Place, Agoura Hills
Proposed for the rear yard: one storey of heavy rough-sawn timber, a dark slatted ceiling and open glass, set at the edge of a still pool.
Out onto the timber deck, where mature sycamores rise through openings cut in the boards and a dry creek of river boulders runs alongside.
From the far edge of the deck the timber frame reads as one long band, with a rough stone wall and a planted hillside behind.
In under the slatted ceiling: a long travertine table, a grill set into a block of rough-cut stone, and pale paving underfoot.
The glazing stands fully open, so the terrace runs straight into a timber-panelled living room with a low cream boucle sofa.
Deeper into the pavilion the daylight drops away and warm concealed lighting comes up along the dark timber walls.
A low cream bed against dark stained panelling, and a full-height window onto a wall of rough-cut stone.

Proposed for the rear yard
One storey of heavy timber, open glass and pale stone, set between the pool, the deck and a dry creek of river boulders.
